Author Guidelines

JERA welcomes submissions of original research, reviews, and theoretical papers in the field of educational research and assessment. We are particularly interested in innovative research methodologies, educational evaluations, and both qualitative and quantitative analyses.

Language and Format:

  • Manuscripts must be written in American English, adhering to standard grammatical conventions.
  • Use the JERA template to ensure consistency in formatting and presentation.

Document Preparation:

  • Paper Size: Use A4 (210 x 297 mm or 8.27 x 11.69 inches).
  • Margins: 1 inch (2.54 cm) on all sides.
  • Font and Line Spacing: Type your text in 12-point Cambria, single-spaced. Add a 6 pt space after each paragraph for clear separation, aligning with international journal standards.
  • Length: Aim for 6,000 to 10,000 words, including references, tables, and appendices. For longer manuscripts, provide justification in your submission letter.
  • Structure:
    1. Title Page: Includes title, author(s), affiliation(s), corresponding author contact, and a brief running head.
    2. Abstract: A concise summary (150-250 words) that highlights the study's significance, methodology, results, and conclusions. Include 3-5 keywords.
    3. Introduction: Introduce the research problem, objectives, and methodology, and articulate the study's unique contribution.
    4. Method: Describe the research design, participant criteria, procedures, instruments, and data analysis methods in detail.
    5. Results: Present findings clearly, supported by appropriate statistical analyses.
    6. Discussion: Interpret the results, contextualize within existing literature, and outline implications.
    7. Conclusion: Summarize key findings, their implications, and suggest directions for future research.
    8. References: Follow APA guidelines for formatting and citations.

Submission Process:

  • Submit your manuscript via the JERA online submission system.
  • Include a cover letter outlining the manuscript's contribution to the field, confirming the originality of the work, and any other relevant information.

Review and Publication:

  • Manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer review. Be prepared to revise your manuscript based on reviewer feedback.
  • Upon acceptance, you'll be guided through the publication process, including any applicable fees for open access.
